Environmental Considerations Report submitted to FAA for review

PEOTONE - On December 5, 2012, IDOT-Division of Aeronautics submitted for review to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) the South Suburban Airport (SSA) Draft Environmental Considerations Report.  This report outlines the environmental resources that were reviewed during the preparation of the SSA Airport Master Plan.  The Environmental Considerations Report categorizes those resources that may be impacted by the construction and operation of SSA.  The report also lists any Federal, State or local agency coordination that may be required.

Please note that the SSA Environmental Considerations Report is not a formal National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) document.  A separate environmental impact statement report will be prepared by the FAA regarding any NEPA approvals.  IDOT-Aeronautics continues to work with the FAA to promptly complete the SSA Airport Master Plan.  All of the submitted materials to the FAA that are part of the airport master planning process are available at
