Alternatives Development and Evaluation report submitted to FAA

PEOTONE - The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) Division of Aeronautics has submitted the Alternatives Development and Evaluation Report for the South Suburban Airport to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in Des Plaines. The Alternatives Development and Evaluation Report is a major technical component of the master plan and identifies the preferred layout for the airport. The centerpiece of the report is defining the location and configuration for a 9,500-foot runway with an airport terminal of six gates. The size and location of the airport traffic control tower, airport rescue and firefighting buildings, fuel storage facilities and maintenance operations also are included.

Susan Shea, Ph.D., director of IDOT's Division of Aeronautics said "We are working closely with the FAA to complete the master planning process." All of the submitted materials to the FAA as part of the master planning process are available at www.southsuburbanairport.com.
