Step No. 12— A relocation agent, part of the South Suburban Airport team, contacts you by telephone to set up an appointment to obtain information needed to establish your relocation benefits . Every effort will be made to coordinate this initial interview with the appraisal appointment to minimize any inconvenience to you. It's important for you to understand that regardless of how the appraisal or relocation benefits turn out, you will not need to move right away. Once you begin negotiations, you will have at least 90 days to move.

Definitions

Relocation agent

A person who has specialized training in Federal Relocation Assistance programs and who will help you with your move.  Your relocation agent will assist you in obtaining all the relocation benefits you are eligible to receive and will work with you to find adequate replacement property.

Relocation benefits

Under the Uniform Relocation Assistance and Real Property Acquisition Policies Act, you will receive certain benefits to assist you in your move.  These benefits are available in varying degrees to all occupants who will be displaced by this project.  The level and type of benefits will depend on the type of occupancy and property being acquired.
