An Airport Master Plan needs to consider potential environmental impacts of the development being proposed. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) encourages the review of possible environmental actions associated with alternative development concepts and the potential means of avoiding, minimizing, and/or mitigating impacts to sensitive resources at an appropriate level of detail for facility planning.
The Environmental Considerations Report explores the environmental factors considered in the preparation of the South Suburban Airport (SSA) Master Plan and identifies the level of environmental documentation necessary to moveforward with the construction and operation of SSA. The information contained within the report will assist the FAA during the preparation of their Tier2 Environmental Impacts Statement (EIS).
